Urr River (उर नदी) or ancient Urvashi River (उर्वशी नदी) is a historical river in Madhya Pradesh, primarily flowing through the Ashoknagar district in Madhya Pradesh.

Course
History
It is celebrated for tracing the ancient, forested borders of the region and is closely associated with archaeological and prehistoric sites. The ancient, historic settlement of Buddhi Chanderi (Old Chanderi) sits on the right bank of the Urvashi. Discovered by Alexander Cunningham in 1865, it is nestled in the Vindhyanchal mountain range and features 10th to 13th-century Jain temples under ASI protection.

Rock Painting, dating back to Mesolithic or Middle Stone Age (6000 BCE), Nanaun Rock Shelter, Situated on the banks of Urvashi River. Most are simply executed in red ochre and depict themes which reflect the concerns of wandering humans of the age. Scenes of hunting, humans carrying weapons and riding, animals including bulls, cows, deer, stags, tigers, elephants, camels, monkeys, crocodiles, snakes etc. as well as birds and even beehives are drawn.[1]
