Origin
- Tall (तल्ल) gotra is said to have originated after the name of a great man i.e. mahapurusha named Talla (तल्ल). [9] [10]

- Thala (थाला) (Jat clan) → Thalner (थाळनेर) is a village and site of a fort in Shirpur Tahsil district Dhule in Maharashtra. It was capital of Dahiya Jats.

History
Talakadu is a desert-like town on the left bank of the Kaveri River 45 km from Mysore and 133 km from Bangalore in Karnataka, India. Talakadu name was derived from two Kirāta twin brothers, Tala and Kādu.
A Stone Inscription of the Sinda family at Bhairanmatti Saka year 955 mentions about Chalukya King Talla II and Pulikala.
Bhim Singh Dahiya write:[12] Here, there seems to be references to at least two Jat tribes,viz., the Tals and the Thandis in the words Talajanghas and Tundikaras.
