Manju (मांजू) Maju (माजु) Manzu, Mozu is gotra of Jats found in Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana and Madhya Pradesh. It is a branch of Johiya.

Origin

• Manaji, according to the bard, was one of 12 sons of Raja Shiv Singh Johiya (959 AD) of Kot Malot (Malout) in Muktsar, Punjab. He is said to have given fame to Manjhu, Sihol and Loonka Clan of Jats.
• Manju (मांजू) - The people from place called Manjh (मांझ) were known as Manju.

• Majha is the region in Punjab comprising of Amritsar and Gurdaspur and Tarn Taran districts.

टोंक जिले के छान गांव के मांजू (मांझू) जाटों का गौरवशाली इतिहास रहा है. मांजू (मांझू) गोत्र राजस्थान, हरियाणा और पंजाब के जाट समुदाय का एक अत्यंत ऐतिहासिक और प्रतिष्ठित गोत्र है। राजस्थान के टोंक जिले का छान (Chhan) गांव इस गोत्र का एक बहुत बड़ा और मजबूत गढ़ है, जहां वर्तमान में मांजू जाटों के लगभग 100 परिवार (घर) निवास करते हैं। यह कुनबा इस क्षेत्र में कृषि, समाज सेवा और अपनी समृद्ध सांस्कृतिक परंपराओं के लिए जाना जाता है।

प्राचीन निकास और प्रवासन (History and Migration): बुजुर्गों के मौखिक इतिहास और वंशावली के अनुसार, इस परिवार की जड़ें उत्तर-पूर्वी राजस्थान के ऐतिहासिक धार्मिक स्थल गोगामेड़ी (हनुमानगढ़ जिला) से जुड़ी हुई हैं। प्राचीन काल में जोहिया (यौधेय) वंश की भूमि रहे इस क्षेत्र से कई सदियों पहले इस कुनबे ने दक्षिण-पूर्व की ओर प्रवासन (Migration) शुरू किया। छान गांव में स्थायी रूप से स्थापित होने से पहले, यह परिवार टोंक जिले की उनियारा-अलीगढ़ तहसील के चोरू (Choru) गांव में आकर बसा। चोरू गांव में समय के साथ परिवार का विस्तार हुआ। इसके बाद, उपजाऊ बनास नदी के मैदानी क्षेत्र की निकटता और कृषि की अपार संभावनाओं के कारण, इस कुनबे की एक मुख्य शाखा चोरू से आगे बढ़कर टोंक-सवाई माधोपुर मार्ग पर स्थित प्रसिद्ध छान गांव में आकर बस गई।धार्मिक

आस्था और सती माता का स्थान: छान गांव के इन 100 मांजू जाट परिवारों की सबसे बड़ी आध्यात्मिक और कुल-आस्था अलीगढ़ के पास स्थित केरोद (Kerod) गांव से जुड़ी है। केरोद गांव में इस कुल की पवित्र सती मां (सती दादी) का स्थान (थान) स्थित है, जो इनके पूर्वजों की प्राचीन कर्मभूमि का साक्षात प्रमाण है। आज भी छान गांव के मांजू परिवारों में कोई भी शुभ कार्य होने पर—जैसे शादी-ब्याह, संतान जन्म या बच्चों का मुंडन (जडूले)—केरोद गांव जाकर सती माता के थान पर जात देने और धोक लगाने की अटूट परंपरा निभाई जाती है। इसके साथ ही, परिवार में लोकदेवता वीर तेजाजी महाराज और जाहरवीर गोगाजी महाराज के प्रति अगाध श्रद्धा है।

वंशावली के रक्षक (भाट/राव जी):छान गांव के मांजू जाटों के इतिहास की सबसे खास बात यह है कि इनका सदियों पुराना लिखित बही-खाता आज भी पूरी तरह सुरक्षित है। टोडारायसिंह तहसील का सवारिया (Sawariya) गांव इनके राव जी (भाटों) का मूल निवास स्थान है। सवारिया गांव के राव जी की हस्तलिखित पोथियों में छान गांव के इन परिवारों की 20 से अधिक पीढ़ियों के नाम, उनके निकास की कड़ियाँ और वैवाहिक संबंधों का प्रामाणिक रिकॉर्ड दर्ज है। 2008-2013 और 2013-2018 तक लगातार यहां दो बार सरपंच भी रहे हैं। मांजू गौत्र के जाट यहां से निकलकर वर्तमान में पास में ही दो गांव जो इसी पंचायत क्षेत्र में है अमीरपुर खेड़ा और अलीपुरा में निवास करते हैं। इसके अतिरिक्त नगरफोर्ट तहसील के बालापुरा गांव में भी निवास करते हैं।
