Khajuria (खजुरिया), Khajuriya or Khajooriya (खजूरिया)[1][2] is a Gotra of Jats.[3]
Origin
- Khajuria Jat gotra is said to be started after people who inhabited area full of Khajur or Date Palm (Phoenix dactylifera) trees. They lived near Khajuraho, so also called Khajuria.[4]
- खजुरिया - खजूरों के प्रांत में बसने के कारण भी खजुरिया लिखा गया है. इन्हें खजुराहो के निकट बसने के कारण भी खजुरिया लिखा गया है. [5] [6]
Jat Gotras Namesake
- Khajuria (खजुरिया) (Jat clan) → Khajuraho ((खजुराहो)). Khajuraho is town in Chhatarpur District in Madhya Pradesh. It is known for Khajuraho Group of Monuments, the Hindu and Jain temples. Jajhoti was ancient place mentioned by Xuanzang as Chi-chi-to in 641 AD. Alexander Cunningham[7] has identified Jajhoti with Khajuraho in Madhya Pradesh.
