Ghatwa (घाटवा), is a village in Nawa tehsil of Nagaur district in Rajasthan.
Founders
Burdak Jats - As per records of the bards of Burdak, the village was founded by Burdak Jats.[1]
Location
Ghatwa is a Village in Kuchaman Tehsil in Nagaur District of Rajasthan State, India. It is located 163 KM towards East from District head quarters Nagaur. 28 KM from Kuchaman. Ghatwa Pin code is 341508 and postal head office is S.R. Kuchamancity . Jijot ( 5 KM ) , Lalas ( 8 KM ) , Hudeel ( 11 KM ) , Todas ( 11 KM ) , Nalot ( 13 KM ) are the nearby Villages to Ghatwa.[2]
Origin
History
Ghatava is a historic village. There was a battle between Rao Shekha and Ghatwa's Gaud Rajputs on Khotia Talab. Rao Shekha lost his life along with his sons. A Memorial of Rao Shekha was built in village Ralawata near Jeenmata in Sikar district. Gaud Rajputs were rulers of Gaurawati region and the Ghatava was in there area. Before the Gaud Rajputs, Panwar and Dahiyas were the rulers. On the east side of the village is a small hill. Ghatavasana Mata Mantawal is the Kuldevi of Meena caste.
All 36 communities reside in Ghatava. There is a temple at four gateways of the forest. There is Temple of Iraniya Balaji.
The main means of livelihood is agriculture. Religious and cultural programs are very important in the Ganga. Ghatava's Ramlila is famous all over the area. In the Ghatwa, the Aravali ranges have moderate height of hills Gorgeous "Gatveshwar Mahadev" (घाटवेश्वर महादेव) on Madho Dungar.
घाटवा युद्ध (1488 ई.)
घाटवा युद्ध (1488 ई.) में राव शेखा अपने पुत्रों सहित वीरगति को प्राप्त हुए. इस युद्ध में गौड़ राजपूतों को भी भारी क्षति पहुँची, किंतु यह युद्ध गौड़ राजपूतों के पतन का कारण नहीं बना.
युद्ध के पश्चात शेखावतों और गौड़ राजपूतों के बीच संधि हुई. यह संधि नारू जी की मध्यस्थता से संपन्न हुई. गौड़ राजपूतों के पट्टी नेता ने अपनी पुत्री का विवाह राव शेखा के पौत्र लूणकरण से किया. दहेज स्वरूप 50 गाँव दिए गए. यह स्पष्ट करता है कि घाटवा युद्ध के बाद गौड़ राजपूत नष्ट नहीं हुए, बल्कि राजनीतिक संतुलन बना रहा. हालाँकि, कछवाहों और गौड़ राजपूतों के बीच वैर आगे भी चलता रहा.
