Origin
- Gathchal gotra is said to be originated from Goths (गोथ), the rulers of country Gal or Gaul. [3]
- गथचाल - गाल प्रदेश का शासक गाथ था जिसके नाम पर गथचाल गोत्र चला.[4] [5]

- गथकोंचा (जाट गोत्र - गथचाल) : गथकोंचा नाम का गाँव झारखंड के पश्चिमी सिंहभूम जिले की गोइलकेरा विकास-खंड में है।
