Dhupgarh

Dhupgarh (धूपगढ़) is the highest point in the Mahadeo Hills (Satpura Range), Madhya Pradesh, India. Located in Pachmarhi, it has an elevation of 1,352 metres. The top of the hill is a popular area to watch sunsets. Pachmarhi Hill station is located close to the peak. It is mentioned as Harivatsakotta (हरिवत्सकोट्ट) in (81) Undikavatika Grant of Abhimanyu of 7th century. It is identified with Dhupgarh (धूपगढ़), the highest peak of Pachmarhi.[1] हिंदी में हरिवत्सकोट्ट का अर्थ 'विष्णु को पसंद पर्वत' है।

धूपगढ़
विजयेन्द्र कुमार माथुर[3] ने लेख किया है ...धूपगढ़ शिखर (AS, p.467) मध्य प्रदेश की सतपुड़ा पर्वतश्रेणी का सर्वोच्च शिखर है। पंचमढ़ी की पहाड़ियों में स्थित यह एक प्राचीन तीर्थ स्थान है। इस स्थान से 'वेत्रवती' या बेतवा नदी का उद्गम होता है।
