Colonel
Colonel (Indian Army) Colonel is a senior commissioned officer rank in the Indian Army. It is above Lieutenant Colonel and below Brigadier in the officer rank structure.
The rank insignia consists of the national emblem of India above two five-pointed stars worn on the shoulder straps. A Colonel usually commands a regiment or large military unit and may also serve in senior staff positions. Equivalent ranks include Captain in the Indian Navy and Group Captain in the Indian Air Force.
