Late Chaudhary Pooran Singh Dabra served as MLA from the Ghirai constituency from 2000 to 2005. While serving as an MLA, he was also a member of the Railway Board. In 1989, he became Chairman of the Market Committee, Hisar. In 1992, he became District President of the Lok Dal Party in Hisar. In 1995, he became District President of the Samajwadi Janata Party. In 1996, he became District President of the Samata Party. From 1997 to 2007, he served as District President of INLD. From 2007 to 2016, he served as State President of the INLD Kisan Cell. In 2016, he became a member of the state executive committee of INLD. In 2018, he left INLD and joined JJP. On 31 July 2001, Late Chaudhary Pooran Singh Dabra became President of the Jat Education Society.
