Balara Sikar

Balara (बळारा) or Balaran (बळारां) is a small town in Laxmangarh tehsil of Sikar district in Rajasthan.

इतिहास

सीकर के राव शिवसिंह (r.1721-1748) की मृत्यु के बाद माधो सिंह ने चांदसिंह का मातमी का दस्तूर किया एवं शिरोपाव किया. उधर सीकर में उसका बड़ा पुत्र समर्थसिंह शासक बना. दोनों भाई मेल से रहते थे. समर्थसिंह चांदसिंह ने मेड़ता की लड़ाई में भाग लिया था. चांद सिंह ने कायमखानियों की फतेहपुर पुन: लेने की योजना को असफल कर दिया था. लूमास की लड़ाई में भी उसने भाग लिया. आगे चलकर मनमुटाव होने पर चांद सिंह बलारा में रहने लगा. यहीं उसके प्रतापी पुत्र देवी सिंह का जन्म संवत् 1810 (1753 ई.) में हुआ. उधर अगले साल समर्थ सिंह मर गया तो कुछ समय बाद चांदसिंह ने उसके पुत्र नाहर सिंह को सीकर से निकालकर अपना कब्जा कर लिया.

चाँद सिंह ने मराठों से लड़ाई की थी. इसकी मृत्यु संवत् 1820 (1763 ई.) में गनेड़ी गांव में हुई जहां इस पर एक छतरी का निर्माण किया गया है.
