Some inscriptions in Sirohi district
[p.149]: Muni Jain Vijay ji has published inscriptions from more than 70 ancient sites of the Sirohi area. Most of these inscriptions are from the 12th to the 15th century AD. In Mirpur, there is an old Jain temple of Gaudi Parshwnath, surrounded on all sides by Hills. Most inscriptions from Brahmanvad belong to the 15th century AD. In Vikram era 1519 several devakulikas were constructed there and consecrated by Laxmi Sagar of tapa-gachchha. Jhadoli, which is 20 km to the east of Sirohi contains a Jain Temple dedicated to
[p.150]: Shantinath. It contains a large slab with an inscription dated Vikram era 1255 Asoj Sudi 7 (9 September 1198). It seems that this temple was originally dedicated to Mahavir and not to Shantinath. The inscription also refers to the grant of an Orchard to the temple by Shringar Devi queen of Parmara Dharavarsha. Ajari is about 5 km south of Pindwara. Ruins of Hindu and Jain temples prove that this was once a prominent City. The Jain temple has inscriptions ranging from Vikram Era 1018 to 1454. Diyana is equally old site. Its Shantinath Temple has and icon of Mahavir dated Vikram Era 1024. It has remained in constant worship and several Acharyas have passed the rainy seasons here. Lotana, which is also referred to Lotipur-pattan, is also a very ancient Jain site. The Rishabhdeva Temple here has several inscribed old icons dated Vikram Vera 1130, 1144 and onwards.
