Raja Karan Singh Of Unchagaon

Raja Karan Singh Pilania (died 1927) was the ruler of the Unchagaon Estate in present-day Bulandshahr district, Uttar Pradesh, India. He belonged to the Pilania dynasty and succeeded Raja Gursahai Singh as head of the estate in 1898. He remained ruler of Unchagaon until his death in 1927 and was succeeded by Raja Surendra Singh Pilania.^[1]

Early Life

Raja Karan Singh Pilania was born into the Pilania ruling family of Unchagaon. He was the son of Raja Tikam Singh and the grandson of Raja Gursahai Singh, who served as ruler of the Unchagaon Estate.^[2]

Reign

Raja Karan Singh Pilania assumed leadership of the Unchagaon Estate in 1898. His tenure coincided with the period of British administration in northern India. During his reign, the estate continued under the authority of the Pilania family.

Architectural Works

Raja Karan Singh Pilania commissioned the construction of the Deola Dada Temple at Unchagaon. The temple was erected during his reign and remains located within the estate.

He also commissioned the Pilania Stambh, a commemorative pillar situated at Unchagaon. The structure was constructed during his tenure as ruler of the estate.^[3]^[4]

Death and Succession

Raja Karan Singh Pilania died in 1927. Following his death, the leadership of the Unchagaon Estate passed to Raja Surendra Singh Pilania.

Legacy

Raja Karan Singh Pilania is recorded in the genealogy of the Pilania dynasty as ruler of the Unchagaon Estate from 1898 to 1927. The Deola Dada Temple and Pilania Stambh were constructed during his reign.^[5]
