Pitampura
Pitampura or Peethopura (पीतमपुरा) is a small village in north west Delhi, between Harsh Vihar and Rohini. Residential Colonies like Rani Bagh,Prashant Vihar, some part of rohini, Kohat Enclave, Delhi Haat, Harsh Vihar and Pitampura blocks were developed on village land.

The Founders
History
Pitampura is now an urbanised village because all its agricultural lands have been acquired and new residential colonies have emerged. It has now a Metro station in its name.
According to local history, the area where the famous Pitampura TV Tower stands today is believed to have witnessed warfare between local villagers and Islamic invaders. Due to these conflicts, the villagers established a new settlement, which came to be known as Pitampura Village.
In later years, the well-known Pitampura TV Tower was developed on village land and became a major landmark of Delhi.
Today, Pitampura Village is a major commercial area of Delhi. Markets such as Shiva Market and Rama Market are widely known for their famous showrooms dealing in house construction materials, sanitary goods, hardware, furniture, and interior decoration products.
